Summertime/A short trip to the beach
The Gulf of Trieste, not more than 40 minutes by car from Casaforte di Bergum, offers one of the most spectacular views of the upper Adriatic.
The Coastal Route along the Adriatic starting from Sistiana to the city of Trieste offers a breathtaking view of the cliffs overlooking the sea and a wealth of small bays set in an extraordinary natural setting made up of sea pines and broom with a symphony of perfumes and colours.

The numerous beaches and inlets offer a host of swimming and sunbathing choices:  starting from the Villaggio del Pescatore to the bay of Sistiana with its renowned Castelreggio beach and the Costa dei Barbari (a beautiful beach for nature lovers), to Duino, a marvellous bay surrounded by imposing white cliffs and overlooked by the splendid ancient Castle which bears the same name, now open to the public; along to Marina di Aurisina with its beach “Le Ginestre”, and on to Grignano, with its marinas. Next stop Miramare, with another spectacular Castle complete with historic gardens and the Miramare/Sticco beach (the meeting place for the trendy under-35 crowd from Trieste).  From here our beach itinerary continues to Barcola with its famous “Topolini”, a veritable institution in Trieste (an important meeting point for local teenagers), and so on until we reach Muggia, right on the border with Slovenia.

Just a few words about the city of Trieste, which has recently been rediscovered by a cultured tourism, attracted by its Mitteleuropean charm, rich in cultural and historical allusions and an ever-present past which permeates the city.
For those who prefer perfectly manicured white beaches, Grado and Lignano are not to be missed!
Both can be reached in about 30 minutes by car from Casaforte di Bergum and attract numerous tourists  The towns offer many enjoyable pastimes such as shopping, sports facilities, endless beaches and spas.
Lignano, in particular, caters to the younger clientele with its exuberant night life.
